Der Epsilon-8130 ist ein eigenstdiger Switch, der keine Host-Computer-Schnittstelle benigt. Alle Switch-Funktionen werden von einem direkt im Switch integrierten 416-MHz-MIPS-Prozessor verwaltet. Der Zugriff auf den Prozessor erfolgt er eine Webschnittstelle er einen der Ethernet-Ports oder ereinen seriellen RS-232-Port. Die integrierte Webschnittstelle bietet eine intuitive grafische Benutzeroberflhe f die Konfiguration und Verwaltung aller Switch-Funktionen. Der On-Board-Speicher entht duale Anwendungsimages, Boot-Code, MAC-Adressen und andere Parameter und kann auch f die Programmausfrung verwendet werden.
